La Escuelita Viva offers regular educational sessions the first Saturday of the month, and hosts other types of in-person and virtual community gatherings.

Three times a year, la Escuelita Viva becomes our Health and Wellness Fair, with the aim to provide educational information and participation in activities that encourage us to prioritize our health. This includes educational presentations, medical screenings and vaccines, references for local clinical services as well as housing and legal support.

The WWRC and community members who lead La Escuelita foster a community space with the goal of ensuring our community is well-informed about the natural, social and political realities in which we live our lives. We seek a critical understanding of the issues at hand through an analysis of root causes and of impacts on our lives. We pursue liberatory solutions and capacity to apply new knowledge to transform our reality.

We focus on the strengths we have as a community by highlighting the positive actions we can take to uplift those around us and make systemic change. La Escuelita thrives off of enthusiasm and the participation from its members. We encourage interaction by engaging in honest and intentional reflection.
