How to create an emergency plan

Prepare! Create your emergency plan.
Regardless of immigration status, every family should have a Family Preparedness Plan to protect your children, finances and home.

Make a childcare plan by finding a responsible person that you trust and that your child feels comfortable with.
Put your childcare plan in place by creating an arrangement for your child to be taken care of by your designated caregiver, in case you are no longer able to. Which can include legal or informal verbal arrangements.
Talk to your child about your plan.
Update your child's emergency contact information at your child's school.
Create a file with important documents.
Save money if possible for potential expenses.
Make a legal plan for a trusted person to take care of your finances and/or properties.

You and your family can be ready by preparing these things.
